This game meant more to me than winning a championship. It embodies more than just a team, or even a sport, sports in general. If the game had just one flaw it would be that this game was way too Disney.

Just read the biography on Weber - totally forgot his mom passed away right before the Big Ten tourney. As if this video doesn't get me choked up already, that passage about her passing made me choke up more.

Illinois was given a gift by the refs in this one. They didn't even deserve to make it to the finals, but once they did UNC gave them their proper comeuppance. No championship for these undeserving clowns in orange. Illini basketball hasn't sniffed the final four since. |
